The day of our 10 year wedding anniversay

So, our 10 year anniversary was by far the best yet. When we got married we used to joke around that we should have taken the money we used on our few hour long wedding and flew to Vegas to get married by Elvis and spend a week having fun, vs. the one day that we barely remember.

When we got orders to Vegas I immediately started planning a wedding to re new our vows. Which included getting remarried in a little white chapel on the strip with Elvis, then bungee jumping off the stratosphere then ending it all with a buffet on the strip, followed by some simple people watching and ending it in our hotel room. But then, we built a house and the money to support that went bye bye. And then we found out we were pregnant so no jumping off skyscrapers for me.

But this turned out to be THE PERFECT DAY.

We started out around 11 and drove down to the Las Vegas strip while Mimi stayed home and watched the kids. We parked at Treasure Island and decided to walk until we ran into something that we liked for lunch. We walked for 30 minutes and people watched. We decided to look for Emeril Lasgasee's Stadium Club but then realized it was further than we thought so on our walk we ran into Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville...which is more our style.

Dad started out with a beer and Mom started out with diet coke and water.

(all cell phone pics here)

It was totally our style atmosphere. Tons of people to watch, in a wide variety. Families plus drunks at noon.
It was nice and cool in there, the beer was great, the diet coke was perfect and not too watery or bubbly. There was loud music, tv and so much around to look at.
We ordered our food and the way we do it is order 2 different things, usually sandwiches, and then trade half and half so we both get 2 different things. This time was no different. I ordered blackened tilapia sandwich which was so fresh it melted in your mouth. Nick ordered the bbq bacon cheeseburger which was also great.

After we ate, he had another drink.

And I had desert.
Which made this meal start with mine and Nick's pickles and then end with ice cream.
( First for me!)

Then Nick decided to try out the Margaritaville Casino and play his hand at Keno. Where he got a free drink!

After lunch we walked around and decided to make a stop at Ross, and then a surprise stop here:

After our afternoon out, we went  back home for about an hour and half then headed to our friends for dinner. We left the kiddos behind and Nick and I, Mimi, our friends CW and Dawn and Dawn's parents went down to Freemont St. Nick wanted to go and the only way we would stay out late ( late being 10:30 for us) was if we were out with friends. And we thought the parents should get out and see some of Las Vegas. It was interesting. I think the parents had their jaws on the floor the entire time we were there and they probably wish they had the ability to wipe out their memory. HA.

Mimi got Nick this tshirt!

I always get these $1 frozen chocolate bananas on Freemont St

It was a great day.
