29 weeks....details

Oh boy, where do I even begin??

What an interesting week it's been. I feel like it's been several weeks, not just one single week. So much is different now. The 3rd trimester was treating me as if I was back at the first trimester but a little worse. I had the dehydration incident plus 3 nights ago I went to bed with 'night' sickness as I did in the first trimester.  Although, then I never actually got sick. 3 nights ago I woke out of a dead sleep at 10 pm and headed straight to the toilet and puked. Ugh.

I was SO.WORN.OUT.

I could barely accomplish 2 chores a day and it takes me half the day to do it because I'm so slow. Usually the 2 chores are laundry and dishes and that is about all I can tolerate in a day combined with taking care of the kiddos.

The past 2 days though, have treated me well. I also am not pushing myself as hard so I'm not as worn out by mid day.

I have started making a list of what to pack for the hospital bags, mine and Carly's. I'm going to actually start collecting the items in a week once I hit 30 weeks....wow....did I really JUST type THAT??

We also need to start stocking actual supplies in her room such as wipes and diapers. I cannot think of what babies require...it's been 3 years since I've had one!

Mommies- What is your top must have in your hospital bag? I know the baby doesn't require much, the hospital provides most everything but what did you need during your stay or wish you had? Im trying to think of what our birth mother had packed during her stay when Kayla and Caden were born.

28 weeks 5 days catching up on details

Im blogging mid week for the first time because there is a lot of things I want to keep track of and don't want to forget. 2 more days until 29 weeks! Just 2 more days and my last week in the 20 something weeks will begin. This is unbelievable.

It all started Sunday when I woke up not feeling myself. By 1 pm I went to take a nap and woke up 3 hours later only because I forced myself to wake up. I felt like I could have slept the rest of the day and all night. I woke feeling terrible.

The next morning was worse. I had to drag myself out of bed to go have my glucose test. By the time I got there I could barely walk. I was having heat flashes. I had no energy. I was thinking it was because of the 3 day high carb glucose test diet but there were 2 other girls there testing as well and they were all happy and chatty and laughing. I just wanted to punch them pretty much. I asked the lab tech if it was normal for me to feel like that and he pretty much didn't know but said everyone is different. My blood was drawn. I had another heat flash and thought I was going to pass out mid blood draw. Then I had to drink the dumb glucose drink which was disgusting. it was like drinking liquid sugar with a little cherry flavoring. After I drank it, it was back to the waiting room for an hour until then next blood draw. except, I made it about 15 minutes sitting there before I had to literally run to the bathroom to barely make it to the toilet to throw up. I didn't even get to close the door behind me before I started puking. oopps.

I went to the lab and told them the red drink came back up and I really didnt feel good and they said I had to re-schedule another day to re-do the test. So I did. But I could barely stand and much less walk. So on the way out I stopped at the Women's Clinic where I am seen regularly for my pregnancy and explained something was wrong, I did not feel good. I sat in the waiting room while they got a nurse and I barely made it through sitting. I asked if there was a bed to lay down in, I felt like I was going to pass out just sitting there.

The  nurse came with a wheel chair and took me up to the 2nd floor to Labor and Delivery and they hooked me up with the NST machine to check the baby- she was totally fine.

She was kicking up a storm and moving so much the entire 4.5 hours I was in the hospital. It was so neat to feel her and hear her at the same time. I could hear her heartbeat and kicks at the same time I was feeling them. So neat. I just cant get over there is a human being in there! One we made ourselves!

I was also hooked up to IV fluids for dehydration after being diagnosed with a stomach virus.

I had a pint and a half of fluids.

They also checked on my fasting blood that was drawn that morning and it was 103. A little high for it to have been after fasting. A normal range is as low as 60 and a diabetic person anything over 120. My fasting level this morning was 77 so I can see why they are questioning my 103. They did not want me re-taking the drink test in case I throw up again and then we are back at square one with having no idea what my levels are. So now, I have to finger prick myself 4 times a day for 2 weeks and on my 30 week appointment they will check my levels. I can say after only one day of finger pricks, Im safe. I do not have gestational diabetes.
This morning first thing Im at 77. Last night 2 hours after dinner I was 64. Yesterday 3 hours after lunch I was 118 (but I was hungry). All very normal range. I am guessing my fasting blood draw was elevated a tad because I had a stomach virus and had no idea...

But all is well. Yesterday I was much better but still very tired and worn out. Today so far, I feel even better. I had a dream about a very large icee from the gas station last night, so today that is my main mission.

See you all in 2 days for an updated belly picture and pregnancy details!

28 weeks and lots of dates!

So here you have it! 28 weeks today. Officially the 3rd and final trimester. I feel so much bigger and round and uncomfortable then these pictures show. I look at the pictures and think, not bad for a 28 week pregnancy but I swear this past week has been the most physically challenging. I cant sit up from the recliner without support. I cant bend down to reach my feet. I cant roll over in bed without clinging to the edge of the bed. I cant walk up the stairs without feeling like Im going to die from lack of oxygen.

This has also been the most rewarding week so far. Carly's kicks and movements are stronger and more often than ever before. Nick actually got to feel a couple small kicks last night while laying in bed. I have come to realize she doesn't like, or it wakes her up, when I lay flat on my back. Must not be comfy for her.

At this point she is the size of an eggplant. She is 13-15 inches long and if she takes after me (5'1" barely) she is more along the 13 inch mark. She should be around 2 to 2.5 pounds at this point. If she were born now she would probably survive because her lungs are mature enough with medical help. But I beg her stay in for at least 10 more weeks. We have 12 weeks until the official due date, but I would welcome her to come sooner.

Things really are moving along so fast. So much to keep busy and look forward to, to keep us busy and occupied.

7 Jan I have my glucose test.
8 Jan is my 28 week appt, then appts will be every 2 weeks after that.
16 Jan I being my last year being a 20 something year old.
22 Jan- dental appt.
1 Feb is class 1 of 4 for breastfeeding and childbirth, each class is 2 hours long.
2 Feb will be Cadens 3rd birthday party.
12 Feb class 2 of 4 for breastfeeding/childbirth
16 Feb My baby shower
19 Feb class 3 of 4
23 Feb family maternity pictures
26 Feb last class for breastfeeding/childbirth

All of this, not to mention my bi weekly appts and the in March my weekly appts when the little girl is welcome to come :)

27 weeks

I will hit 28 weeks tomorrow, but I never posted my 27 week update because of all the holiday posts. I didnt want it to be January and you all still reading and looking at Christmas stuff. So here you have it, 27 weeks was 6 days ago and I feel like I have grown a ton since then! By far the past week has been the most physically challenging yet!

Still no stretch marks (thank you lord) but my belly button is slowly turning outward. I have since taken my belly button ring out. It just irritates me and is very uncomfortable. I am developing that linea nigra line down the center top and bottom of my belly button just very lightly.

I've had to put away all my size small maternity clothes upgrade a size.

Except this top, which is a small and still fits...barely.

The little girl has moving so incredibly much this week. New Year's Eve she was pretty active. New Year's Day she was quite and while I know in my gut she was fine I still worried and wondered. Yesterday I had not to worry for a second. Literally all day long she was kicking the heck out of me. It was all super low and toward my back and what felt like right on top of my bladder.

Tomorrow will be the 28 week picture. The THIRD trimester! 12 weeks to go!

Christmas Day photos

Christmas Day was a blast. Kayla woke up and we took her into our bedroom. We told her Santa came but we had to go wake up Caden before we could down stairs. I was standing in his room watching him sleep, thinking to myself, "Shouldn't it be the other way around? Shouldn't the kids be waking up the parents, not the parents waking up the kid?"

We woke him up, and down stairs we went. A few hours were spent on opening gifts! We did however, notice Kayla wasn't herself. She wasn't overly excited, she didn't smile a whole lot except when discovering what she was opening and it only lasted a second or two. She wasn't her normal early bird morning self.

After all was open and the house was a wreck, Mom and Kayla went out to pick up some late breakfast/early lunch. My energy has been down and the thought of being in the kitchen cooking hurt. So we picked up some McDonald's, came home, cleaned up only a little and just hung out.

I prepared a veggie tray and we gathered the ingredients for no bake cookies, and baked mac and cheese and headed to our friends house 12 houses down the street. We arrived there, finished cooking, snacked, and sat down for dinner. Kayla wouldn't take one bite of food and just randomly without saying a word to anyone, went to the couch with a pillow and blanket. Just minutes later, she was throwing up. After dinner, her and Caden spent the next 2 hours taking a nap and at 5:15 I woke them up. Kayla had no chance in waking up to open gifts, Caden tried but was too tired. He was not ready to wake up that morning when we woke him.

From there it was all down hill. Kayla spent the rest of the week very sick. Finally Saturday morning we took her into the ER, and she was diagnosed with upper respiratory infection and a mild case of croup. MISERABLE isnt the word. Yesterday, was the first day she was off the couch, eating, and playing a little.

We all have the sore throat, stuffy nose going on and its not fun.

Now, here are pictures!

Christmas Eve package 2!

Wow, I got behind on the blog. At least Im not as behind in blogging as I am in scrapbooking. I still have May pictures undone...and its now January. I really need to get a move on. I have less than 13 weeks before another life will need to be documented as well and I cant keep up with what I already have.

Anyways, Christmas Eve we got a package from Kayla's Birth Father, his girlfriend and their 4 month old baby. Its always fun to get packages from him because of the special meaning behind it and he always seems to know what to get Kayla.

They even included many baby items for baby sister to be!
