In addition to the milestones I posted about yesterday, in August 2013 before the school year started we made a 4 night trip to San Diego California. Sea World honors Military families with once a year free tickets, so we like to take advantage of this each year.
It was Kayla and Caden's 2nd visit, and Carly's first visit outside of the womb.
We surprised the kids with not telling them until the last second and we also left a day earlier than planned.
Seeing the whales is a must. Amazing amazing animals.
Besides the whales, petting the sting rays must have been the next favorite thing to do. So soft and gentle and how they just glide through the water is amazing.
I could show probably 200 pictures from sea world, so instead of that I will also share the other fun places and things we did on this trip.
We went to the gas lamp district for dinner and decided on Whiskey Girl. Kayla loved it. (We now eat there each time we visit SD) She loves their potato skins.
After dinner we went to the Gherideli chocolate shop for some ice cream.
Our last day there we discovered Seaport Village. (And we now visit there each time we are in SD as well)
We also checked out the USS Midway. They also honor military active duty members with a free ticket.
While in SD, Carly turned 5 months old.
The kids each got to pick out 1 toy from The Disney Store.
We ate the best Mexican food ever in Old Town. (Which we also now visit each time we go to SD)
After eating Mexican food in Old Town we visit the old fashioned candy store. They have the best taffy ever!
This trip was a blast. We did so much and I could share so many more pictures. We stayed in a hotel overlooking the bay. We watched helicopters and ships for days. We could leave the balcony doors open and feel the cool ocean breeze.
We left with this souvenir. The one and only thing we do not have here in Las Vegas, is ocean. Ocean is greatly missed by us all.
