Mimi and Papa arrived!

Mimi and Papa arrived last night! I tried to keep the kids awake long enough to see them, but it was a fail. Even after them eating cupcakes at 8 pm.

We are having a blast! The kids are acting as if they have never been so far away from them for the past year and a half. Its like no time has passed, yet the kids are so big it's like all the time in the world has passed.

It was like Christmas Eve night....waiting to excitedly for morning so the kids could see their Grandparents.

Mt Charleston

On Sunday we spent the day going on a long drive. We drove up to see snow! One of the reasons I love Vegas so much is you can drive an hour to a lake or you can drive an hour to see snow, or you can stay in the suburbs where we are building and have everything you could possibly need, or you can drive 15 minutes to the city and be in the Las Vegas strip. Its the best of all worlds.

But today, we ventured to go see snow!

We all did except Kayla, who was fast asleep in the car. She is up at 5 am most days so there is no way she was going to stay awake. (3 years later I am still hoping she outgrows this)

Sweet 16

Saturday was one of our favorite girl's sweet 16 birthday party. In the military lifestyle you dont typically see your best friends daughter at 6 years old and then grow up to be at her sweet 16 birthday. All the moving around the world typically doesnt allow that to happen. But not us. Not us. We have been blessed enough to have these friends as our family, near by.

What makes me chuckle is that they are about 8 houses near by.

As you can see...Kayla had a blast. ha.ha.

Her theme was black and white, and a little red, which was very elegant.

Veggie tray- in which my kids ate 2 bowls of these peppers.

The little kids loved the balloons. My daughter mostly.

The table with punch and cupcakes and candy.

16 year old's  little sister Alexandria (Kayla's favorite) and her friend who came to the party. The last time we were with this little girl she was just getting out of diapers.

The birthday girl's lovely Mama and my boy.

Me. Ew. Hate close ups. But the husband insists on taking them all the time.

Birthday girl and our Kayla.

And Kayla trying to help the birthday girl.

Cupcake time!

Dad and Mr Chuck back together again and up to no good, just like old times!

Pooh Bear

My fluff ball, yesterday soaking up the warm Las Vegas sunshine.

According to this chart, my kitty is coming up on 60 years old.

That makes me sad.

But he is a BIG trooper. I think he will be around for a while.

IF I can get him to diet.

Electrical Panel?

We checked out the house yesterday since I was in the area for an errand.

And now we have an electrical panel..I think. Correct me if I'm wrong. Nick is out in the field practicing his jumping from airplanes for 2 nights so I cant ask him.

2 days Dad free

2 nights Nick will be 'camping' out about 1.5 hours away in the desert and practicing his jumping from planes. What is a Mama and babies to do without him for so long?

God forbid a deployment come up EVER again...we'd be lost!

A couple of weeks ago I took the kids out to park not far from here so Dad could have quiet time to study. I got this picture of them. One of my all time favorite pictures of them together.

Last Saturday we ventured out to one of the local flea markets. It was in a little less than pleasant area of town, but it was great and we had fun. We even got to experience a boat load of new foods. All Mexican foods, but all great.

Both children ate their first ever churro sticks and they put TWO of them away like there would be no tomorrow!

When Pooh Bear got his wings

2 years ago today, Pooh Bear got hurt. I have avoided blogging the past couple weeks because I knew this post was coming. But I n...
